Animal Welfare Policy

Sunday Afternoons is committed to animal welfare and follows applicable laws, regulations, and standards for the humane treatment of animals for all animal-derived materials in our products. When sourcing animal-derived materials, we expect animals were treated with respect regarding the Five Freedoms of animal welfare: (1) freedom from hunger and thirst, (2) freedom from discomfort, (3) freedom from pain, injury, or disease, (4) freedom to express normal behavior, and (5) freedom from fear and distress. We commit to the following animal welfare requirements:

Animal Fur and Exotic Leather

  • No animal fur is used in any Sunday Afternoons product.
  • No exotic leather is used in any Sunday Afternoons product. (Exotic leather is any leather derived from animals other than bison, cows, deer, goats, kangaroos, pigs, or sheep.)

Down

  • No down sourced from ducks or geese which have been live-plucked or force-fed is used in Sunday Afternoons products.
  • Sunday Afternoons encourages Suppliers to source down processed to the Responsible Down Standard or Global Traceable Down Standard.

Wool

  • No wool which has been sourced from sheep that have been mulesed is used in Sunday Afternoons products.
  • Sunday Afternoons encourages Suppliers to source wool processed to the Responsible Wool Standard.

Mohair

  • Sunday Afternoons encourages Suppliers to source mohair processed to the Responsible Mohair Standard.
